Buy a Koenigsegg UK Guide 2026: Import, Registration and Finance
Most people who set out to buy a Koenigsegg in the UK hit the same wall within an hour. The listings exist, but the prices mostly do not. Of the five cars we found publicly advertised on 8 August 2026, three said price on application, and the two that showed a figure were a Jesko and a Regera at very different points in the market. There is no Koenigsegg showroom on every high street, no used guide that covers these cars and no quick way to compare one example with another. So buying one here is a sequence of steps rather than a single purchase: find the car, work out whether it is already registered in the UK or has to be imported, prove it is what the seller says, and then fund it. This guide takes those steps in order, from new allocations to private imports, and finishes with a worked finance example on the priced Regera.
Koenigsegg Finance is part of Hypercar Finance, a trading name of Lenzie Consulting Ltd (company number 08174104). We arrange finance: we are not a lender, not a dealer and we do not sell or import cars. The business is not authorised or regulated by the FCA. Agreements entered into wholly or predominantly for business purposes are not regulated consumer credit, and we arrange those directly; where an agreement is regulated consumer credit we introduce it to an FCA authorised broker partner, which carries the regulated activity and any advice. There is no minimum advance. Every figure in this guide is indicative, not an offer.

In the episode below, Georgina walks through how a Koenigsegg reaches a UK driveway, and how the finance lines up with import and registration.
Three ways to buy a Koenigsegg in the UK
A new car through allocation. New Koenigseggs are allocated to buyers years before they are built, against a deposit, through the manufacturer’s dealer network. The UK has a dealer for the marque. The allocation deposit is normally paid from your own funds, and finance is arranged to meet the balance when the car is delivered.
A car already in the UK. This is the quickest route, when a car is available. The car is already registered, the seller is here and the paperwork is in English law. The catch is supply: at any one time there may be only a handful for sale.
An import. Because so few cars are built, many UK owners find their car abroad. Importing widens the choice a great deal, but it adds tax, shipping, registration and time, and a lender will not release funds until the car’s legal position here is clear.
Whichever route you take, it helps to know what the range looks like. Our guide to every Koenigsegg we finance lists the cars from the CC8S to the CC850, with production runs and reference prices where they exist.
What was actually for sale in August 2026
On 8 August 2026 we reviewed the UK sellers that rank for Koenigsegg sales. This is the complete list we found. The prices are asking prices set by each seller, not sale prices and not valuations.
| Year | Car | Mileage | Seller | Asking price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2025 | Jesko | 2,500 | UK dealer for the marque | £4,260,000 including VAT |
| 2021 | Regera | 800 | UK dealer for the marque | Price on application |
| 2022 | Regera | Not stated | UK dealer for the marque | Price on application |
| 2006 | CCX | Not stated | UK dealer for the marque | Price on application |
| 2022 | Regera | Not stated | Independent specialist | £2,600,000 |
Three things follow for a buyer. The visible market is tiny. Price on application is normal, not a warning sign. And the published figures cannot be used as comparables in any meaningful way, which is why every agreement on these cars starts from a valuation of the specific car.
Buying a Koenigsegg in the UK is less like shopping and more like finding a car, proving it and then paying for it.
Importing a Koenigsegg: tax, approval and registration
If the right car is abroad, the steps below are the ones that affect finance. We are not an import agent and we do not give tax advice, so treat this as an outline to discuss with your agent and accountant.
- Tax on arrival. Import VAT and any customs duty due are paid to HMRC. The amount depends on where the car is coming from, its age and its status, so we do not quote a figure. For scale, the Jesko advertised in the UK showed £3,550,000 before VAT and £4,260,000 after it, a difference of £710,000 at 20 per cent on a domestic sale.
- Approval. A car that does not already carry an approval recognised in Great Britain may need to show it meets UK road standards before it can be registered. Low-volume cars can need an individual approval test, and that takes time to book and pass.
- Registration. The car must be registered with the DVLA, and taxed, before it is used on UK roads. Once registered it carries a UK number plate and a logbook in the keeper’s name.
- Security. A lender will want the car in the UK, registered and properly insured before it releases the balance, and it will usually record its interest in the car so that the finance shows up on a history check.
The practical effect is a gap between paying a seller abroad and the lender being ready to fund. Some buyers bridge that from their own funds, and some agree with the seller that the balance is paid on arrival. Build the timetable before you commit to a purchase date.
Worked example: funding the £2,600,000 Regera
Take the independently advertised 2022 Regera at its £2,600,000 asking price as a hypothetical purchase price, before any adjustment a lender makes after valuation. According to manufacturer data the Regera was built in a run of 80 cars, all sold, which is why priced examples are so scarce. The assumptions are the ones used across our money site: 20 per cent down, 48 months and an indicative nominal rate of 8.9 per cent.
| Line | Hire purchase | Lease purchase |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit at 20 per cent | £520,000 | £520,000 |
| Amount financed | £2,080,000 | £2,080,000 |
| Deferred final payment at 40 per cent | None | £1,040,000 |
| Final payment in today’s money (divided by 1.4257) | None | £729,449 |
| Balance amortised over 48 months | £2,080,000 | £1,350,551 |
| Monthly payment (balance multiplied by 0.024838) | £51,662 | £33,544 |
| 48 payments | £2,479,776 | £1,610,112 |
| Total payable including deposit and final payment | £2,999,776 | £3,170,112 |
The 1.4257 figure is 1 plus the monthly rate of 0.7417 per cent, compounded over 48 months, and 0.024838 is the matching annuity factor. Lease purchase takes £18,118 off each monthly payment and adds £170,336 to the total, with £1,040,000 due at the end. On a car with an 80-car run and three of five UK listings unpriced, that final payment rests on a resale market you cannot see, which is worth weighing before choosing the lower monthly figure. Our Regera finance page covers that car in more detail.
Checks before you commit
A lender will ask for most of these, so gathering them early saves weeks.
- Ownership and title. Proof that the seller owns the car outright, or a settlement figure for any finance still secured on it.
- History file. Service records, invoices and any factory correspondence, in the order they happened.
- Identity of the car. Chassis number checked against the paperwork, and for an import, the foreign registration documents.
- Independent inspection. A specialist inspection before money changes hands, particularly on an older car such as a CCX.
- Valuation. An agreed valuation the lender accepts, which becomes the basis of the advance.
Buying through a company or personally
Many Koenigseggs in the UK are bought through a limited company. A company borrowing sits outside the consumer credit regime, and at sums this size so does an agreement made wholly or predominantly for business purposes, and we arrange those directly. A personal agreement is likely to be regulated under the Consumer Credit Act 1974, which gives rights such as ending the agreement once 50 per cent of the total amount payable has been paid, and we introduce those cases to an FCA authorised broker partner. Import VAT and the tax treatment of a company car are matters for your accountant.
Outlook for UK buyers
Supply will stay the constraint in 2026. New cars are allocated long in advance, the used market is a handful of cars at a time, and imports will keep filling the gap, which puts DVLA registration and HMRC paperwork at the centre of many purchases. The Bank of England base rate is 3.75 per cent, held at the 30 July 2026 decision, with the next decision due on 17 September 2026. That is background on the cost of money, not the rate a borrower pays on a Koenigsegg, which the lender sets for the car and the case.
FAQ
Can a normal person buy a Koenigsegg? Anyone who can meet the price can buy a used one, and finance spreads that price over time. It does not make the car affordable on an ordinary income: even with 20 per cent down, the £2,600,000 Regera above needs £520,000 up front and about £51,662 a month on hire purchase. New cars are allocated rather than sold off the shelf.
What is the price of a Koenigsegg in the UK? The reference prices on our model pages run from £1,800,000 for a Gemera to £3,650,000 for a CC850. Used cars are mostly price on application. On 8 August 2026 the two priced UK listings were a Regera at £2,600,000 and a Jesko at £4,260,000 including VAT.
Is Koenigsegg road legal in the UK? Yes. Koenigseggs are built as road cars, and cars sold here are registered with the DVLA like any other. An imported car must meet UK road standards and be registered before it is driven on UK roads.
How many Koenigseggs are in the UK? We do not know of a reliable public count, and we would rather say so than guess. What we can say is that five were publicly advertised for sale in the UK on 8 August 2026, and that production runs are tiny, from six CC8S cars to 125 Jesko cars.
